The other day we attended a marriage of a relative in Bangalore. Myself along with better half & young son went to Bangalore. It was a grand function attended by many relatives coming from many places.
On way back sitting in the comfort of multiaxle volvo i was thinking as to how these functions help keep the economy moving. In all we have generated employment & business to so many people viz ; cateters, decorators, transporters, jewellers, garment manufacturers, sweet shops to name a few. That is we have created several man days work. The indirect benificieries being the travel agents, post, courier. So in short, marriages are big economy boosters.
Apart from these things imagine the amount spent by relatives & freinds that attend the marraige.
A corporate management pro. Keen on various developmental issues. Clear on the idea of growth & development & vouches for development.

Toll collection
We waste a lot of time at toll collection plazas whenever we travel on highways loosing a lot of productive time . If we calculate the total amount of time spent, it will be enormous & actually a waste.
So are there any measures to make toll collection more efficient? We are loosing on national productivity & can definately reduce the oil import bill.

Attitude
What is actually attitude? It should be a natural reflection of individual personality & not to be artificial as seen generally everywhere.
Attitude should command respect.
We often hear what an attitude!
Actually that is not attitude but misinterpreted pride.

Kumbh Mela
The Kumbh Mela at Allhabad once in 12 years is a very pious event from the ancient days. The holy dip at the confluence of Ganga , Yamuna & Saraswati is a very sacred as millions of devotees take a holy dip in the river. Imagine about 30 million people assembling for an event ! This can happen only in India.

Mom & Pop stores
A keen look at Mom & Pop stores over last several quarters indicates, these stores are slowly transitioning themselves.
The stuff we used to see only in malls has started finding shelf space in these stores. These are typical high end consumables. These stores have in fact grown in number & variety on offering & are becoming more convenient & popular. There is personal attention & billing is quicker, without waiting in long Que. Many stores also accept meal passes & also offer credit & door delivery.
So there is no threat to this format of stores, but the efficiency & offerings have increased due to malls.
Social networking
The Twitter, Facebook, Linked in are some of the sites, that provide a platform to connect, express views, gain knowledge & much more.
So social networking has gained importance as at the click of a button you are updated on happenings, events & you too can post whatever is essential.
